- Folio 47. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Thomas Marriott, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union. They acknowledge his letter of 21 February 1856 forwarding the contract between the guardians and George Crosland of Sheffield regarding the valuation of portions of land in several parishes used by the Great Northern Railway. They state that they are not happy with the contract and recommends to the guardians that instead of one general contract covering all parishes involved, there should be separate contracts in respect of each parish. Returns original contract [not included].
