- Folio 303. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Marriott, [Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union), concerning a vestry meeting in Norwell parish at which it was agreed to request their apportionment of £88:8:6 towards part discharge of a debt of £150 due to the executers of the late Thomas Kitchen. It appears, by an endorsement on the promissory note [not included] which accompanied the resolution that the note was given 'for further securings £150 due to Mr Kitchen on Mortgage of the Poor Rates of Norwell'. They ask for the instrument by which the rates were so mortgaged, together with a declaration of the borrowing by the parish, as well as a statement concerning the purpose to which it was applied and confirmation that it is still unpaid.
