- Folio 299. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Thomas Marriott, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union, referring to a resolution of the Bathley vestry meeting relating to discharging a debt. The Commissioners note that it is proposed to discharge this debt through the intended sale of parish property, rather than Thurgarton Incorporation property. They cannot authorise the liquidation of the debt in question until such sale has taken place, and such produce placed into the hands of the treasurer. They further suggest that the used sale application forms [not included] may be forwarded to the Commissioners with regard to their property.
