Folios 297-298. Letter from Handley, Peacock and Co., to the Poor Law Commission, relating to the enclosure of a promissory note [not included] for £80 due from Bathley and sent from the Southwell Union for the purpose of inspection and endorsement. Handley, Peacock and Co ask for it to be returned once the Poor Law Commission have seen it. A note dated 1839 Mar 5 relates to the debt of £80 stating from whom it was borrowed in order to build the workhouse.
