Forwards a letter from the Lords of the Committee of Council for Trade noting that the Bermudian 'salt gatherers' at the Turks Islands 'should not be subjected to the payment of taxes by the Bahama Government'. Refers to the Turks Island inhabitants' request to decline representation in the Bahama Legislature which had been directed by an Act passed in December of 1799.
