1888-1928
These ledgers record the total holdings in cash and securities held in the name of the Accountant-General of the Supreme Court of Judicature.
Each of the general funds of Chancery, Queen's/King's Bench, Probate and Divorce, Admiralty and Exchequer are entered separately. The various holdings of government securities (ie consols, 2½% annuities, loan stock, etc), and the interest yielded on the various stocks, also appear under distinct headings. Similarly, there are separate entries for the cash accounts, and for dealings with certain other bodies, such as the National Debt commissioners, the Inland Revenue commissioners and the Bank of England. There are also summary particulars in respect of a small number of special funds, such as those of the Official Solicitor and the Land Transfer Act 1897 insurance fund.
