Shipping Tribunal case files, 1941 to 1950, arising from disputes with the Ministry of War Transport, later Ministry of Transport, as to the payment of compensation in respect of the requisition or acquisition of vessels or the taking of space or accommodation therein under the Compensation (Defence) Act 1939.

Also included is a register of claims, 1939 to 1952, giving in certain cases the date of the hearing, details of the claimant, the vessel concerned, the amount claimed and awarded and any order as to costs.

Files are arranged in chronological order.The list indicates the names of claimants and vessels concerned.
