Sir John Jennings to Dartmouth on 7 June: he has sent two third rate and two fourth rate ships home with as many artificers and officers as could be spared, and will soon send three more. He wishes his instructions to be amplified. Arrangements for the evacuation of Catalonia. He has agreed to evacuate 4,000 troops at British expense. Capture and restitution of a vessel by the Neapolitans. Compensation demanded from the viceroy of Sardinia. He encloses a letter from the grand master of Malta to the queen and one from the consul there [SP 42/68/123]. Attacks on shipping around Minorca by Majorcans and Algerians. There is no news of a truce with Sallé; he intends to send some ships there. He wishes to return home with the second detachment.
