Captain William Owen to Dartmouth: he has received a lion from HMS Greyhound. The lion appears very sick and Owen asks for instructions. He has a prisoner in irons for murder from Newfoundland whom the magistrates of Deal refuse to take charge of, and asks for instructions. He has brought a young eagle from Newfoundland and offers it as a gift to the queen. Dated on Sole Bay in Long Reach. No. 100
