Sir Hovenden Walker to Josiah Burchett: lack of assistance from the government and people of New England. He names the other ships sailing with him for Quebec. Capture of a French ship. He has had to draw £1,000 on his own credit. The transport Mary with Colonel Disney's regiment is missing. Disobedience of the captains of Dunkirk and Edgar; he attaches details of their court martial. Engagement of a pilot. He encloses the sentence of a court martial. As Humber and Devonshire were considered too big to go up the river to Quebec, he has sent them home. Dated on board Edgar off Bird Island. No. 57
