Description

These are cause books used in the Crown Office and Associates' Department of the Central Office of the Supreme Court of Judicature to record details of actions entered for trial in the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court of Justice in London. The books give the names of the parties; the solicitor acting on their behalf, a short description of the cause of the action and, from 1909, brief detailed of its disposal. Until November 1889 Middlesex actions are entered separately.
