Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to 1305-1306 as this petition seems to be part of an original file of Gascon petitions - SC 8/338/E1217-SC 8/338/E1260 - for which SC 8/338/E1228 seems to have been the cover petition. The dating of this group of documents is arrived at by the possibility of more closely dating several of the petitions in this group, and these are noted when necessary. In addition, almost all of the petitions bear the old PRO references to Diplomatic Documents 1542 and 1548. The petition can possibly be more precisely dated to? c. 1305 as provision was made to pay the petitioner for sums due to him in April 1305, though an earlier provision dates to 1299 (Roles Gascons, vol. III, nos. 4529 (229), 4901 (2), 4985 (259).

Related material (A cross-reference to other related records)
-
The petition belongs to a probable original file consisting of SC 8/338/E1217- SC 8/338/E1260 of which SC 8/338/E1228 was probably the cover petition judging from its endorsement, see SC 8/338/E1228
