- Olyver, proctor of certain gentlemen of the Bordelais who served the king in his last Gascon war has resided in this country [England] at great cost to change under the great seal certain letters of purveyance and wages, the which he is not able to change, and he requests that it be commanded that the letters will be changed and that aid be made to the petitioner upon the debt of the same letters so that he is able to return to his own country as he does not otherwise have the means to return.

- The petition is dated to 1305-1306 as this petition seems to be part of an original file of Gascon petitions - SC 8/338/E1217-SC 8/338/E1260 - for which SC 8/338/E1228 seems to have been the cover petition. The dating of this group of documents is arrived at by the possibility of more closely dating several of the petitions in this group, and these are noted when necessary. In addition, almost all of the petitions bear the old PRO references to Diplomatic Documents 1542 and 1548.
