Note
The petition is dated to 1305-1306 as this petition seems to be part of an original file of Gascon petitions - SC 8/338/E1217-SC 8/338/E1260 - for which SC 8/338/E1228 seems to have been the cover petition. The dating of this group of documents is arrived at by the possibility of more closely dating several of the petitions in this group, and these are noted when necessary. In addition, almost all of the petitions bear the old PRO references to Diplomatic Documents 1542 and 1548. The petition can possibly be more precisely dated to? c. 1305 as it seems likely that the petition relates to an entry in the Gascon Rolls whereby provision was made for the petitioner with reference to Thomas de Cambridge, though the sum differs from that requested (Roles Gascons, vol. III, no. 4982 (4)).
Related material

The petition belongs to a probable original file consisting of SC 8/338/E1217- SC 8/338/E1260 of which SC 8/338/E1228 was probably the cover petition judging from its endorsement, see SC 8/338/E1228
