Note
The petition is dated to c. 1294-c. 1307 as the petition appears to refer to a document lost with the bulk of the Gascon archive when the same was dumped in the house of the White Friars on the Ile d'Oleron in 1294 during the Gascon War of 1294-7, and appears to date still within the reign of Edward I, though how much later is not clear (Gascon Register A, ed. G.P. Cuttino, vol. I (Oxford, 1975), pp. xii-xiii).
