Karre complains that he inherited and messuage and land in Wickersley and was seised of it and took profit from it, but the Wickersleys came and entered the same and disseised him, and with Leyston who subsequently married Margaret Wickersley they have kept him out, and he cannot pursue this at the common law because of his poverty and their strength. He requests that the king grant his several writs of subpoena or letters of the privy seal directed to Wickersley and Leyston and his wife commanding them to appear before the king and the lords of the council at Westminster at a certain day to answer the premises.1)
