Nature of request
Rycrofte complains that he was assaulted, wounded and utterly maimed by Porter and others, servants of Radmyle, without any reason, and by whose menaces he dare not abide in his country without the king's aid. He requests letters of the privy seal to Porter and the others commanding them to appear before the king and the lords of his council at a certain day to answer such things as will be objected against them concerning the premises.

[On face:]Let letters be sent just as requested of the 13th day of June in the 20th year to appear at Westminster on [...] St John Baptist etc. under penalty of £40 each.[On dorse:]William Rycrofte against Edmund Porter and others.
