Mathew requests that the king send his letters under the privy seal to Savell and the others jointly or severally to be addressed commanding them to appear before the king and the lords of the council at a certain day to answer the premises and such other things that at their coming will be laid against them. Mathew states that he was possessed of lands and tenements in Rastrick by inheritance through his wife from her uncle, and on the first day of the present month of June, Savell and others came arrayed for war and entered the same land and a poor woman who was the petitioner's farmer there, assaulted and ousted from the land, and chased her two sons away, and they came to the petitioner in Essex, but they dare not return because of the threats of the malefactors and can have no recovery.

Note
The petition is dated to 1480 as this petition and many of the others in this file seem to be part of a file of that date, all having a response on the face dating the petition to the twentieth year of the king's reign, and the hand indicating a petition of Edward IV's reign, and some having clearly stated that the regnal year is that of Edward IV.
