Fygs, William
Addressees
King.
Occupation
clerk of the privy seal
Nature of request
Fygs requests that he is granted the annual pension that the next abbot of Gloucester is bound to the king to provide for one of your clerks to be named by the king, and Fygs will pray for the king's estate.
Nature of endorsement
[None].

Abbot of Gloucester.
Note
The petition is dated to? c. 1472 as the petition appears to suggest that a new abbot of Gloucester had just taken office, or was about to, and as the petition by its hand and by the reference to Lord Hastings in the following petition to which this petition is sewn is certainly of the reign of Edward IV, it seems very likely that the petition dates to the commencement of William Farley's abbacy in that year.
