Nature of request
Stockehyth requests remedy as Thomas de Broomholm purchaser of eight bovates of land in Kirton in Lindsey which is of ancient demesne devised the same to the petitioner according to the usages of the manor, which testament was prayed in the court of Edmund, earl of Cornwall, then lord of the manor, and before the sub-dean of Lincoln and Wottone, and confirmed by the seal of the chapter of Lincoln as is attested by the letters, and seisin was delivered by the warden of the court, but soon after Broomholm ousted him, and before Stockehyth could come by his purchase, the earl died, and the land came into the king's hand, and the hand of Countess Margaret at the will of the king.

Let the bailiffs of the said Margaret of the same manor who holds that manor at the will of the king to inform the council upon the customs used in the same manor, and upon all the facts touching that business.
