The letter is dated to 1401-1402 as it comes from an original file of petitions addressed to Henry Monmouth, Prince of Wales and or his council dating to those years. The letters themselves are dated in their dating clause to 20 March 1388 (11 Ric. II), and recite letters patent of 8 January 1386 (9 Ric. II).
