Nature of request
Coughwell requests that he be suffered to sue by writ in the prince's name against Sadler and other malefactors who entered the prince's liberty of Wallingford and took the petitioner and imprisoned him in Oxford castle at the suit of Mede without the king's command and without any default being made by the prince's bailiff. He will do this at his own cost to make them answer and make satisfaction for the trespass, thus that no fine is made with the malefactors without making satisfaction to the petitioner for the costs of his suit.
