Merser states that pleas in the Hustings of Oxford are discontinued and delayed because of the absence of the mayor and bailiffs [citing two examples] and he is summoned by Segrave, Spratlyngton and Fordham to be before them in the Wardrobe on the first Monday in Lent which coincides with the holding of the court, and he requests that he can be excused until the second Monday in Lent.
