Description

Monks of Bradwell.

Nature of request
The monks request letters to the bishop of Lincoln that he will make to Kington [...] to settle this business of the election of a prior as they are the prince's tenants in the honour of Wallingford and are greatly damaged by such unreasonable wrongs. The office of prior has been long vacant because of the great oppression by Bitesle who makes himself patron of the house and will make a prior of his own will without the assent of the convent, and they have elected Kington, but they are prevented from having this confirmed by the bishop by the actions of Bitesle.

[None].
