Nature of request
Nanfan requests that he be granted that he can pay the arrears of £27 6s 8d on his account in instalments over five and a half years for his 26 years service. The arrears are for the bailiwick called 'Shirebaillie' of Penwith as he is pursued and distrained to pay the prince's receiver in Cornwall to the ruin of Nanfan's estate, but the arrears are the result of the insufficiency of the petitioner's under-bailiff.
Nature of endorsement
The petitioner should have instalments of the sum, paying 100s. per annum at the terms of Michaelmas and Easter by equal portions until the sum of £27 6s 8d be paid, and this because it is attested before the council because the petitioner has lost the sum by the negligence and insufficiency of his under-bailiff. And upon this let writings be made to the auditors and receiver of Cornwall that of the arrears at the next time that he renders his account that they should make instalments as above.
