[The petition is damaged on its right-hand side, though the sense is clear].The burgesses request [remedy] as reason demands as they are quit of tolls in the town of Coventry by grant of the progenitors of the king, the king having confirmed this, and the people of Coventry should pay toll to them as they have done from time out of memory, but now the people of Coventry detain [...] and other goods to the value of £40 from the people of Derby.
