[The petition is damaged on its right-hand side, though the sense is pretty clear].The petitioner requests that letters are sent to the prince's auditors to discharge [him] and the provost of Lostwithiel of the surcharge beyond the high rent due from his lands. The petitioner was seised of certain lands in [...] but was ousted by the prince's ministers in Cornwall, and the land was afterwards let at farm at [...] beyond the high rent previously paid. Thomas sued for recovery, and after it was found that the petitioner had a good right he recovered the same, but the auditors finding 4s. charged on the account have caused the petitioner and provost to be surcharged, they having no warrant otherwise.
