[The petition is damaged on its left-hand side, though much of the sense is clear].Chaldecote shows that Helion was seised of the moiety of the manor of [... and held] from the prince by knight service, and died in his homage, and Joan his daughter and heir [...] being within age and whose marriage pertained to the prince, and her body was [...] by John Fynacourt and Carre and took her dressed as a man and afterwards married her in disinheritance of the prince, and to the great damage [? of the petitioner]. Carre has now sued a writ of trespass against Chaldecote to capias and has procured that the petitioner was taken [? and imprisoned] at Allington where he remains.1)
