- Farendon requests that the prince will return his jewel and discharge the prince's treasurer of the same as the petitioner has given letters of recognizance to the prince's council [...] passed before a notary and under the seal of the prince. Smyht had given a jewel to Fitz Giles to be carried to the petitioner at Caumont in the time that the prince resided in his principality, but Fitz Giles wrongfully engaged the jewel to Henry, the clerk of the prince's controller at Bordeaux, and the petitioner has been unable to have recovery.
