Nature of request
The prior and convent state that the certain of their lands and tenements, rents and service of their tenants with the view of their tenants were taken into the prince's hand, and then by the advice of the prince's council it was granted that they should be surrendered to them, but not all have been surrendered and their tenants continue to be distrained, so that they request that the prince's steward and his ministers be commanded to cease their distresses and duresses and surrender the lands and tenements and view. They request the delivery of one part of a tripartite made in the time of Queen Isabella so that they can be acquainted with their evidences and rights. They request that the prince's ministers be commanded not to meddle and make execution with their priory and elsewhere within the foundation which they hold from the king in chief.
