Men and tenants of the town of Coventry.

Nature of request
The men and tenants request the prince's aid for remedy as they have been granted and confirmed by the king and his progenitors that they be quit of all manner of tolls throughout the realm, but the mayor and bailiffs of Dublin will not allow this and have arrested the goods and chattels of the men of Coventry and imprisoned them because they say that such quittance is against their liberties, and will not release them until they make a fine.They request that the clerk of the town and others of the town who are present be arrested and made to answer before the council of [? the king] and the chancellor in Chancery for these wrongs.
