Nanfan requests some reward in relief of his poor estate as his under-bailiff in the bailiwick called the 'scherbaille' of Penwith by default lost £27 6s 8d which the petitioner paid to the receiver of Cornwall to the great ruin of his poor estate. In addition, he was classed as a merchant to take 7 thousands ('millers') of his tin, each thousand being valued at 20 marks though he was not a merchant of tin, nor had any tin except for his own use, whereby he has lost £21 in the 7 thousands.
