[Top left-hand corner missing] The earl of Warenne makes two requests.1) He asks for judgment in a case in which he has impleaded John de Mares in the King's court concerning two parts of Blanmuster's manor in Mears Ashby.2) He states that he holds the manor of Stamford by the King's charter as freely as his father did and had full return of writs there until recently when, just before his removal from office, Boulton usurped this right. He asks that he not lose his estate again.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] 1) He should proceed according to the law of the land.2) It should be answered to him that his rolls should be searched and then he will be answered, and in the meantime Seyton is ordered to examine the rolls of the last eyre of Lincolnshire and the rolls of Chancery to determine how the petitioner's father held the aforesaid.
