Nature of request
The community of Bayonne makes three requests.1) They ask the King to confirm their choice of mayor, received by Ferrers.2) They state that the lord of Albret has closed the waterway by which they bring merchandises and victuals into the city, and taken six merchants of the city, and ask that the seneschal of Gascony order him to reopen the waterway and release the merchants3) They request letters patent to the seneschal of Gascony to protect them from the commissaries of the King of France, who constantly trouble them because of their allegiance to the King and have taken £20,000 Tourneis from them.
