Because the tenants of the archbishop of Canterbury throughout England are accustomed to be quit of tax to the damage of King and realm, it seems to all people that the King and council should decide whether or not this practice should continue.1)
Nature of endorsement
[Right-hand edge missing] They should seek the rights [...] to the King elsewhere [...] offences of perjury, and if the archbishop explains himself in this matter, they should complain to the King who will take council on this.2) This petition was answered by the King in Parliament at Westminster on the octave of the Nativity of Mary in the 33rd year.
