The petition dates to 1278 when there was an oyer and terminer into the persons who broke into Brewes's park (CPR 1272-81, p. 287), and when the King ordered that the petitioners' lands and chattels be restored to their wives and families, since Brewes and others disseised them before they had been outlawed (CCR 1272-9, pp. 457-8).
