Duncalf requests that letters of the privy seal are directed to Prestwich and Bartholomew Holcroft to appear before the king in the octave of Hilary next to answer the complaints made against them by the petitioner on pain of £200 so that the petitioner may be restored to his lands and tenements in Hulme, Bedford and Pennington with his costs, issues and profits taken before this time. Prestwich came with armed men to Norbury and burnt a windmill of Thomas Hyde and because the petitioner as sergeant of Law of the earl caused Prestwich and his men to be outlawed he occupied Duncalf's land in Hulme. Holcroft and his sister had forcibly occupied land in Bedford and Pennington which the petitioner had sued against Holford's father for pasture in [Detail of the legal progression of the suit].

Note
The petition is dated to 1471-1483 as it refers to Edward, earl of Chester, eldest son of the king, and this can only be the eldest son of Edward IV, as the petition clearly refers back to events in Henry VI's reign, so that it cannot be Henry VI's son Edward, or Richard III both of whom only had one son.
