Nature of request
Writ of Edward I to his justices reciting that Robert Burnel had granted the manor of Welton to Philip and Felice de Montgomery, and recording it's descent, and that Mortimer had impleaded Felice de Montgomery after her husband's death for two parts of the manor of Welton. The king commands the justices that having inspected the fine, if it is made in a legitimate form and was not annulled by any subsequent act, then they are not to proceed in taking the assize or in any other manner of the plea that will cause the disinheritance of either of the heirs who are in the king's custody because of their age, or will cause harm to the king's custody in the future.
