Nature of request
Writ of Edward I to the sheriff of Worcestershire reciting that the prior of Worcester recovered his seisin against the Molintons in one messuage with appurtenances in the suburbs of Worcester, and because fraud is suspected between the parties against the statute of Mortmain the sheriff is ordered to make to come before the justices at Westminster at the day of Trinity in fifteen days knights and other good and law-worthy men of the neighbourhood to examine the matter so that the king is better able to know the truth.
