Nature of request
The people request that the bounds of the forest of Windsor in Surrey be perambulated by people of that place and that the bounds thus perambulated are able to be taken in the form granted by the king. The king assigned Berwick and his companions to take the perambulation and they commanded the sheriff to make people of the pays to come to make the perambulation by inquisition, but he summoned strangers who did not know the area so that nothing was done.
