Vavassour requests that the king grant his writ to his justices to enter the liberty of Knaresborough where the malefactor Redeschagh is imprisoned and that he have the pays of the body of the county before them and make reasonable judgment, or that the king order the justices to enter the liberty without his commandment or writ. Vavassour was granted a writ of oyer and terminer before Mallory and Burnham of which malefactors entered his parks of Healaugh and Woodhall and it was found that it was Redeschagh and the sheriff found that he was imprisoned at Knaresborough by Bereford's order.

The petition is dated to c. 1298 as two commissions of oyer and terminer were issued on 7 June and 20 October of that year concerning individuals who broke the petitioner's park of Woodhall, though it no mention of Redshagh is found in either case (CPR 1292-1301, pp. 381, 382).
