Fiz Wauter requests remedy for the malicious prosecution brought against him by the prior of St Neots for defamation while he was in the king's service, for which judgment was given against him following an inquisition held by Brabazon with a jury from the prior's men by which he was adjudged to render to the prior 10 marks.
Nature of endorsement
If he contends that an error was made in the record, it should be made to come before the king.And concerning the accusation of the jury, the justices record that he lies.

The petition is speculatively dated to c. 1290-c. 1316 based upon the hand. Brabazon was justice of King's Bench from 1290-1295 and Chief Justice of King's Bench from 1295-1316. It seems likely that the petition dates to this earlier period.
