Danvers requests remedy and that allowance be made to him as other sheriffs have had as he is charged for all the acts and profits of his office though he has requested allowance £20 per annum for the houses in the castle, [...] prisons and distresses taken for the king's debts, as these have been granted to Amory.

Note
The petition is dated to 1307-1313 as the petitioner held the office of sheriff from November 1307 to April 1308, and from February 1311 to April 1313 (List of Sheriffs, p.107). Amory's possession of the houses in Oxford Castle may relate to his tenure of the office of sheriff between Danvers two terms, and may, therefore, suggest that the petition dates to the latter term.
