Merchant vintners of the duchy of Guyenne.

Nature of request
The merchant vintners state that they were granted the moiety of the issues of the customs of Southampton for the sum of £331 17s. that the king owed them for 85 tuns taken from them at Bristol, and that some tuns were given to Bertholmieu and £48 was rebated, but they have only received £98 3s. 4d. ob. of the remaining £283 17s. They request that as they are now ousted from the assignment by the ordinances of the ordainers they be paid the arrears of the sum or be given an assignment until the sum is paid.
