Normant requests remedy of the matter of the ship loaded with his merchandises which was forced by storms to Spain, and there robbed of the merchandises by people of various parts, as he has applied for restitution to the king of Spain and had letters from the king and queen to the king of Spain and nothing has been done. He requests remedy so that he can have restitution and that the people of those places be arrested so that he is able to have his damages.

The petition is dated to c. 1312 as Spanish merchants were given safe-conduct to come to England upon security that they do right to Normant and others, and the king to whom the letter was addressed was Ferdinand the IV who died in 1312 (SC 8/327/E805; CPR 1313-17, p.34). Given the location of the identified Spanish ports, 'Embremen' ('Ymbremount' in SC 8/238/11871) may be Bermeo.
