Nature of request
Welleford states that he holds a messuage near New Temple which escheated into the hand of the king because of the lands of the Templars, and he requests that the king say his will concerning the timber of a house within his close that the master of the Temple began to build, the greater part of which wood has been stolen and burnt by the men of great lords who reside in the Temple, and the remainder is stolen from day to day.
