[Petition in five parts]:1) Hastyng complains of the wrongs and grievances done to the poor people of Coton and Ravensthorpe by Glaston and his bailiffs, as Glaston is only supposed to have one bailiff on foot and one mounted in his bailiwick, but has two mounted and on two on foot who are billeted on the poor people for three weeks to a month at their cost, and if any complain he wrongfully causes them to be amerced in the court of Duston, and of this she requests remedy.2) She complains further of the steward and his bailiffs that at their two comings in the year they demand corn, wheat and rye, namely one quarter from some, and two quarters from others and if any do not wish to do this they are again wrongfully summoned and amerced.3) [Not very legible] The petitioner complains further of the bailiffs concerning livestock and taxation.4) She complains of the steward of Peverel who should have one bailiff taking one mark per annum but now has four and the people are impoverished paying for them and she requests remedy.5) Hastyng requests remedy as the poor people do not make suit to the court of Duston but they are wrongly summoned and then amerced.
