Nature of request
Deyncurt requests remedy as he did his service in the Welsh war for the land that he holds from the king in the twnth year of the reign to which he vouches to warranty the rolls of the Constables and Marshals, but the treasurer and the barons of the Exchequer demand scutage.
Nature of endorsement
Let him come to the Exchequer because he has not come before, and if it is found that he performed the service he shall be quit for all the fees as many acknowledged.
Note
The petition is dated to? 1283-? 1285 as a note of a petition by the petitioner appears in Chancery Parliamentary Proceedings that relate to the parliament held at Acton Burnel in September 1283, and the petitioner was granted his scutage on 8 Oct. 1285 (C 49/2/3; Calendar of Various Chancery Rolls, 1277-1326, p. 370).
