Nature of request
The citizens request that the king will bring the matter of the debts owed from the time of King Henry be brought before the council, and they will do their will. The citizens paid the debt in the time of King Henry, of which the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer have writs to certify the king and council at the next parliament, and it is now that parliament.

The petition seems likely to date to the Autumn parliament of 1305 as an earlier petition to the Lent parliament seems to be that that initiated the enquiry by the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer mentioned in this petition (Rot. Parl., vol. I, p. 165a (no.56)).
