- The abbot requests that he be permitted the tithes of hay given to his church and to the priory of St James, Bristol from the meadow of [their demesne] and men from their manor of Barton by Bristol as they have no meadow for tithes where they receive both major and minor tithes except tithes of hay.

- Before the treasurer and he will make the bailiff of the manor come and those in whose interest it is, and he is to enquire the reason why those parts are not tithed as other parts are, and he is to inform the king at another parliament.He is answered by the treasurer that because ... in the petition that they were never in possession of those tithes and they will still not have them except by the special grace of the king.
